3 GIRL FRONTED ROCK BANDS!

A Girl Fronted...guitar driven ROCK NIGHT!

FIREFLIGHT
Strong words, yet these are the very thoughts behind the title track of Fireflight’s latest offering Unbreakable. And they just might be on to something. Who among us hasn’t felt the need to dream again? To move past the things that beat us down, to feel (dare we say it?) unstoppable? It’s these daring sentiments that urged music execs at the NBC network to license “Unbreakable” for its fall promos of primetime TV show “Bionic Woman,” making the inspiring soundtrack into one of the definitive rock anthems of the popular hit series.

Fireflight, which self-released an album and EP before debuting nationally with 2006’s The Healing of Harms (Flicker), spent years as tireless road warriors on the concert circuit. While they are straightforward rockers, the Sunshine State band learned to ramp up its live show to play alongside heavier acts as well. “We push it as heavy as we can without being metal,” says guitarist Justin Cox, yet the band’s natural melodic touches helped Harms score Christian rock No.1s with “Waiting” and “You Decide” (also Top 10 at CHR).

EOWYN

Éowyn is a Nashville recording artist with an industrial rock sound and a theatrical stage presence that will leave you utterly captivated with emotional intrigue.  Her hearts cry is to touch the lives of youth around the globe as their silent screams for life’s meaning, personal significance and hopelessness largely go unanswered.

In her latest album “Silent Screams” the focus is on encouraging those who are ensnared by depression, anger, loneliness or insecurities.  As Eowyn explains herself, “It breaks my heart to see people hurting. I can’t help but cry, because I understand what they’re going through, and I truly know how they can be whole again.”

COTY SLOAN

based out of Dallas, Texas, Coty has had the opportunity to play his violin in venues all over the United States. He brings an all-instrumental evening of music, in a variety of styles, like Celtic, borderline tribal, easy listening and folk remnants.  Painting pictures with music is what happens when listening to Coty Sloan.

“It’s a unique idea of seeing pictures with music. From what I’ve experience, by meeting people on the road; while I'm playing my violin, it is the pictures that people are seeing that are impacting their lives. Being able to witness the Lord replacing chaos with peace in someones life, or restoring hope in someones heart, and simply because I’m playing a song; it’s a rewarding experience.”  Tonight will be a rewarding experience for any concert-goer; because everyone can appreciate an art piece, even if it is painted with music

CYCLEDOWN

A raucous band hailing from Northern CA. The five-piece outfit known as Cycledown is undoubtedly electrifying in its intense commitment to be relational and unshakably sincere in its presentation and lyrical content, though even with such firm footing, members will admit there is much more to their mission than just having fun playing music.  Sonically, the band matches that gut wrenching imagery of their most vivid battles and steadfast convictions with riveting, powering sounds capes. Such tenacity has translated into the moving connection of people through their unique style, which combines classic and current influences like Rage, Foo Fighters, Blindside, Anberlin and Dizmas. Cycledown bridges rock, punk, hardcore and metal nuances to become their style.

RANDY STONEHILL

An Acoustic StoryTeller's Night:

Randy Stonehill, whose discography spans more than 33 years, first took to melding his honest lyrics of faith with rootsy folk-rock music in 1970 under the tutelage of his friend ‘Rocker’ Larry Norman. Alongside a small cadre of Christian artists considered too "Christian" for the mainstream and too "Rock and Roll" for the church, Stonehill blazed trails that are now easily traveled by Christian musicians. In his three-plus decade career he released the groundbreaking Welcome To Paradise album of ‘76 and the equally successful Equator, Celebrate This Heartbeat, and Love Beyond Reason. Stonehill's deft touch with a lyric, his unique and engaging voice and his endearing wit has made him a long-time favorite of thousands and over the years, he wrote classics like "Shut De Do," "King Of Hearts," "Great Big Stupid World" and "American Fast Food. Stonehill continues to make music and release new recordings, including the ’02 release, Edge of the World, which incudes the duet w/Sara Groves, "Take Me Back". Since 1971 he has been standing on stages and pointing to the next world, offering something important to the Christian music community; a sense of history.

GREY HOLIDAY

This new Texas-based quartet on essential records is having a good time, and so will you. Just released, The Glorious Revolution with current single, "Let it Go" hit radio in 2008, with  its hooky chorus and melodic cry for release. This first single examines the paradox of our yearning to die. The airy ballad “You Belong to Me” is lustrous with tasty touches and emotion, while rocker “Revolution,” strewn with sonic effects, is a wake-up call taut with urgent energy. And lest you think Grey Holiday doesn’t know how to celebrate, there is bouncy pop-rocker “Where You Want Me, melodious, smart, and yes, straight-up fun.
