Saturday, February 07, 2009 SHAWN MCDONALD & Danen Kane
30 year old Oregon-raised, Seattle-based singer-songwriter, Shawn McDonald is known for lending his fluid, breathy rasp to intoxicatingly passionate spiritual anthems (a quick visit to YouTube reveals just how many listeners have identified strongly enough with his songs to pick up a guitar and belt them out themselves). This new batch still contains plenty that could unite a roomful of voices in intimate communion with God, but songs like “Clarity”—with its syncopated, stop-on-a-dime acoustic groove—and “Greed”—best described as folk-funk seasoned with cursive strings and banjo—display a deepening and broadening of his artistic voice.
Special Guests: PAGE 2 from the Town of Greenville known locally for their high energy shows and their unique sound. The four member band spent time in the recording studio and released their first album in June of 2008 entitled “From the Cutting Room Floor.”
Good friends and band mates, The guys from Page 2 strive to put out meaningful songs by use of lyrical content, and a sound that not only appeals to the ear but also the listeners emotions. Page 2 has an interesting variety in lyrics; ranging from songs about life, love, hope, faith, and much more. In a music industry that is often scarred by negativity whether its sex, drugs, or anything of that nature, Page 2 maintains their family friendly musical content and personal lifestyles.

dishing out heart pounding blues and riffs that will stand up next to any of today’s guitar masters with a tasty collection of horns and keys. Jimmie writes from the heart and with honesty, reflecting some of his own hard life experiences. Influences of Eric Clapton can be heard in the guitar work on the album and the smoothness of Jimmie's voice is a match for any city blues artist.
The Blues…it’s all about the soul of a man. Who better to play the blues than a man who lost it all only to regain it again? That’s what The Rev. Jimmie Bratcher is about! A man who gave up his love of the blues for a higher calling, only to have the blues come back to him as his higher calling 20 years later. A boy who went to Memphis to follow a dream that over 25 years later is realized every time he steps on the stage in blues clubs like Club Isaac Hayes in Memphis or The Ground Zero in Clarksdale Mississippi.
