There's a passionate honesty to middle America - it's deep-rooted and straightforward. Few places embody that better than Lincoln, Nebraska, home to Word/Warner Bros. newest rock outfit, Remedy Drive. A four-peice, four-brother band (David, Philip, Paul and Dan Zach), Remedy Drive has been cranking out their own brand of music as a full time indie for the past 5 years.
This four piece hits you hard, the music is an arrow headed straight at your emotions. Connecting on thoughts of self examination and personal roots of spirituality and hope! Some things are not so clear as a message or an intention, but what Lincoln Nebraska’s indie talent brings is more of a feeling that is left for your own interpretation. Best of all, I doubt any stage can hardly control their energy and watching them unfold and overflow makes a great show. They are tight and engaging. Bringing the audience in, tugging endlessly at your heart strings. Combining a foundation piano and layering guitars with a solid yet dramatic back beat that can only come when the drums and bass are in sync. Watching David sing, is like watching a soul releasing it self with conviction! Not once did I get the feeling or notion of fake rock stardom. Remedy Drive brought out, authentic and thick, a modern rock with a touch of electronica and fusion. The crowd was connected and involved. It's hard not to pay attention to David’s energetic piano skateboard style hand plants and kick drum launch stunts. Remedy Drive is a brilliant band, that I will go see again and I wish them, and the greatest venue to see them at, “The Cup O Joy" the best of luck! At the end of it, we were all wanting more, and wishing it didn’t have to end. In my opinion Remedy Drive is in their element live, and I guarantee most of us walked to our cars singing or thinking these great songs while watching our breath in the cold November air. Great band, great show great place!
